Growing up with parents who played basketball and inspired her to play at a elite level, Tayha Watkins picked up a ball and never looked back. Committed to basketball as her only sport, she became driven and was drawn by the simplicity of the game as well as the room to always improve. From playing with her brother in the backyard in Victoria to scoring 25.6 points per game for Seymour Blasters, Tayha earned herself a spot in the NBL1 South for the Diamond Valley Eagles.

For the Eagles, Tayha scored 15.68 points per game, 4.92 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.68 assists, eventually catching the eye of Coach Paul Goriss and getting invited to be a Caps Development Player for WNBL26. Looking to make the most of the opportunity with UC capitals, she will be looking to push for a roster spot in the upcoming seasons as well as developing her skills to take into the next NBL1 season.
