Player Bio

Hailing from Mackay, Monique Bobongie is a one of the most promising young talents in Australian basketball. The proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander has had a decorated junior career, including being a two-time receipient of Basketball Queensland's Female Player of the Year (2023, 2024), a gold at the 2024 U18 FIBA Asia Cup, and a silver at the 2025 FIBA World Cup.

After showing her potential at the Centre of Excellence, Mon transitioned to the pros and made her WNBL debut in the 2024/25 season, being named a starter for the Caps at just 17 years old. For the season, she averaged 6.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

Mon thrives on work rate, enjoying doing the ‘nitty gritty’ things that sports personnel refer to as the one percenters. Whether it is working hard off the ball to be in better positions for her teammates or pushing up defensively to regain the ball, Mon is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win.
