The UC Capitals are excited to announce a new partnership with mobile app platform Tiparra, with work underway to launch a club-first Caps App designed to take fan engagement to the next level.

The new Caps App will provide a dedicated digital home to connect directly with our community, bringing news, content, match-day updates and fan experiences together in one place.

UC Capitals Executive General Manager Christy Collier-Hill said the partnership represents an exciting step forward in the Caps’ digital strategy, creating a new channel for the club to build stronger, more meaningful connections with fans beyond game day.

“We’re always looking at new ways to strengthen the connection between the Capitals and our fans, and the Caps App gives us an exciting opportunity to do exactly that,” said Collier-Hill.

“We wanted to create something that was truly ours - a space where our fans can come to stay connected with the team, access content and feel part of the Capitals community.

“Tiparra understands the importance of community and has built a platform that makes it easier for organisations to own their digital presence. That aligns really strongly with where we want to take the Capitals and how we want to engage with our fans.”

Tiparra CEO James Hodge said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting sport at all levels and strengthening communities through accessible digital experiences.

“We built Tiparra because we saw clubs and organisations doing incredible work in their communities, but often having to rely on social media, group chats and outdated websites to connect with their audiences,” said Hodge.

“We believe organisations should have a simple, professional digital channel that they own - one that makes communication clearer, creates value for partners and sponsors, and ultimately brings communities closer together.

“The UC Capitals are a fantastic example of a club that puts its community at the heart of what it does. We’re incredibly proud to support them and help create a digital experience that brings their fans even closer to the team.”

The Caps App will provide fans with a central place to follow the team throughout the WNBL27 season, with opportunities to engage with exclusive content, stay up to date with the latest Capitals news and unlock game day experiences at AIS Arena.

For the Capitals, the partnership is about more than launching a new app, it’s about creating a stronger, more direct relationship with the people who support the team.

It also reflects Tiparra’s broader mission to support sport across all levels and contribute to a stronger sporting community in Canberra.

“We love Canberra sport, and we want to play a role in building a sporting community where sport is for all in Canberra,” said Hodge.

“We’re excited to work with the Capitals and see what we can build together.”

The Caps are continuing to work with Tiparra to launch build the app, with download details coming soon ahead of the WNBL27 season.
