The countdown is over for new UC Capitals signing Amy Atwell, with the Australian Gangurrus tipping off their FIBA 3x3 World Cup campaign today in Warsaw, Poland.
Atwell will represent Australia at the tournament running from June 1-7, taking on some of the world’s best in the fast-paced 3x3 format and will suit up alongside Emma Clarke, Marena Whittle, and Hannah Hank.
The Gangurrus enter the World Cup full of confidence after claiming their sixth FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup title earlier this year, going unbeaten throughout the April tournament with Atwell playing a key role in the campaign.
Australia will face Mongolia, the USA, Spain and Hungary TO determine progression to the knockout rounds as they begin their push for a World Cup medal.
Atwell’s selection adds to an exciting offseason for the UC Capitals recruit, who signed with Canberra ahead of the upcoming WNBL season.
Widely regarded as one of Australia’s premier shooters, Atwell brings valuable international experience and proven 3x3 success to the Capitals lineup.
Fans can watch the Gangurrus’ World Cup campaign live via the FIBA 3x3 Youtube.
